Power Performance of Deutz BF6M1013 Diesel Engine

The Deutz BF6M1013 diesel engine ranks among the top tier within its displacement class. Featuring high torque and a wide torque band, it is perfectly suited for heavy-duty operating conditions and is widely recognized as a highly reliable power benchmark for construction machinery, trucks and generator sets.

1. Power Parameter Performance
The base EC variant delivers a rated power of 174 kW (233 hp) with a peak torque of 854 N·m at the rated speed of 2300 rpm. The high-spec FC version achieves a maximum output power of 223 kW (299 hp), with peak torque exceeding 1050 N·m.
Domestic joint-venture versions cover the power range of 260–300 hp. The 260 hp model generates a maximum torque of 950 N·m, while the 280 hp variant reaches a peak torque of 1100 N·m. Such torque output fully satisfies heavy-load requirements of medium and heavy-duty equipment.
It boasts an extremely wide torque band. Maximum torque is available at the low speed range of 1100–1400 rpm, delivering outstanding low-end torque. Frequent downshifting is unnecessary during heavy-load start-up and hill climbing.

2. Core Technical Advantages of Power
Equipped with turbocharging and intercooling technology, the engine increases intake pressure by 1.5 times and air density by 30%, greatly optimizing combustion efficiency. Power output is improved by over 25% compared with conventional naturally aspirated engines of the same displacement.
The electronic unit pump fuel system precisely controls injection timing and fuel quantity. Its minimum full-load fuel consumption is only 193 g/kW·h. It achieves strong power output while maintaining good fuel economy, with fuel consumption 8%–12% lower than equivalent-displacement engines.
Adopting an inline-six layout with bore × stroke of 108 mm × 130 mm and a golden displacement of 7.146 L, the engine has ample power reserve. Even under extreme working conditions such as high altitude and high ambient temperature, power derating can be controlled within 10%.

3. Power Adaptability under Actual Operating Conditions
Construction machinery applications: Suitable for heavy-duty equipment including loaders, excavators and power units for swirling aerators. It can run stably at full load continuously for 2000 hours without obvious power degradation, fully meeting the demand for over 12 hours of continuous operation.
Truck transportation applications: When fully loaded, it provides rapid power response for overtaking and hill climbing with fewer gear shifts, delivering excellent sustained power for long-haul transportation.
Generator set applications: At constant speed of 1500 rpm, it provides prime power of 160 kW. It features strong transient load acceptance; speed fluctuation is minimal upon sudden full-load application, ensuring superior power supply stability.
